Our focus is on providing safe, healthy and fun Boarding and Daycare options for pets in the area and we strive to understand each of our guests well enough we can customize their stay to make it an enjoyable experience. To do this, much of our energy is spent on Walks, Supervising Group-Play, Playing Fetch, or Spending one-on-one "Buddy Time" just as a pet's unique personality prefers. We are situated on Highway 64 between the Gorge Bridge and Taos making it a great spot to drop off before skiing or exploring Taos. We've got several yards allowing dogs to spend time outside. Our main focus is providing top notch care to the dogs staying with us - whether boarding or daycare. We also offer baths and pet products.
The AWC Pet Center serves the City of Las Vegas and San Miguel County assisting with pet food, providing low-cost spay and neuter services, and rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding “forever” (adoptive) homes for sick, injured, and forgotten animals. We also capture feral cats in neighborhoods throughout our service area and have them spayed or neutered and released.
Equine Spirit Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to bringing horses and people together.
ESS is a licensed horse rescue with the State of New Mexico, with our goal to improve the lives of horses through our programs of horse rescue and rehab and education.
Our programs for people include therapeutic riding with PATH, Intl. accredited instructors and equine-assisted learning and therapy. These programs are designed to honor the intrinsic value of horse and human relationships.
ESS offers clinics and lessons on horse care, training, health and nutrition.
We are currently open for visitors, volunteers and activities by appointment only due to the COVID-19 safety guidelines.
By training dogs and their handlers we help dogs grow and become good citizens. Trained and socialized dogs are less likely to end up with animal control, and are happier and healthier. We also conduct trials so that people have goals to keep them active and interested in dog training and in their dogs.
